Dr David Annan

Dr David Annan is a Consultant Radiologist specialising in head and neck imaging and musculoskeletal interventions.

He works with patients requiring expert diagnostic and interventional services across a broad range of conditions, from thyroid and salivary gland disorders to joint and soft tissue problems, combining advanced imaging with a clear and personalised approach to each case.

Dr Annan holds both the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR).

This dual qualification reflects a depth of clinical knowledge that goes beyond imaging alone, allowing him to interpret scans within the wider context of a patient's health and provide well-rounded management recommendations.

As Site Lead for Head and Neck Radiology at Whipps Cross, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, Dr Annan performs a wide range of ultrasound, CT and MRI scans, as well as fine needle aspirations, core biopsies and image-guided procedures.

His practice focuses on the evaluation and management of thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland and soft tissue conditions, alongside joint and musculoskeletal disorders. He is a core member of the Head and Neck Oncology, Endocrinology and Pituitary Gland multidisciplinary teams, contributing expert imaging reviews across North East London.

Dr Annan graduated with Distinction from St Bartholomew's and The Royal London School of Medicine, before completing advanced radiology training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal London Hospital, where he gained experience in both adult and paediatric imaging.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Medical Education and regularly delivers training and exam preparation for registrars and medical students across London. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, presents at national and international conferences, and is currently completing an NHS Apprenticeship in Artificial Intelligence for Business Value.
